Cohiba Siglo V (Single Cigar)
Product Description: This cigar was introduced in November 1992 and introduced to the international market in 1994, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Columbus to the New World. The Siglo series are said to be milder than the rest of the models from the Cuban brand, tasting all them very similar, with mild creamy sweetness, medium bean flavours and also medium tobacco taste. 170mm of smoking pleasure.

About the Brand: Cohiba is the flagship brand of Habanos.
It was created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro himself and was made at the then top secret but now world famous El Laguito factory. At first, it was only seen outside Cuba as gifts for heads of state and visiting diplomats.
Since 1982 Cohiba has been available in limited quantities to the open market.
The name is an ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba — the earliest known form of the cigar.

Review Notes: Probably my favorite "fresher" Siglo right behind the Sig II Tubos. Good woody flavors without as much of the "grassiness" that fresh Cohibas usually exhibit. Great burn and draw, not much complexity yet (it was an '07), but I am guessing these will continue to age into some stellar smokes.

Review Notes: This is one of my top 3 Cohiba cigars...EVER. I do love the Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished, but if price were no object I would certainly buy more of these than do. But, once again, despite Cohiba's over-pricing, (my opinion only!) this cigar is truly worthy of it. I've purchased a total of 7 boxes in the past 6 years. In my first box, I had one plug, and haven't had one since. The smoothness, no, the creaminess os this cigar is out of this world. I find myself lighting one, grabbing a book, sitting down and before I know it, the cigar is burning my fingers and the book is yet unopened. That's how carried away I get when I light one of these up. The smoke is so enjoyable, I kind of drift away...okay, okay, weird, but true! It has a nice amount of spice, and a lovely floral note that lasts for at least a half of the stick. The finish is long, cedary and delicious! I'm sorry the reviewer 'dlc625' had an "annoying aftertaste that couldn't be described"...I only hope he gives this hall-of-famer of a stogie another chance, the aftertaste on this cigar, in my opinion, is just so...perfectly matched, so to speak, with the rest of the cigar, it's one of my favorite finishes in the business. This cigar is expensive, true, but to have just one box and to smoke one or two a year and by the time you get down to between 19 and 21, you simply won't believe how great this cigar is.

Review Notes: I've smoked a number of these, from various years, and they never disappoint. For one, I love the size. Second, the Siglo V's flavor is, with a little age, incredibly complex, always with the typical Cohiba flavor undertones.

First Cuban I've ever tried. Man, what a great cigar. Had leather and creamy coffee flavors all the way through. I could only finish about half of it because I was buzzing hard. Would prefer another in a robusto size, but this was the best cigar I've ever had.

Review Notes: This is a good looking cigar that draws and burns well. It is also well made. It is rich, creamy, and peppery with a short toast and cedar finish. It is a good cigar but to creamy to smoke in the evening and to peppery to smoke in the morning or afternoon.
