Description: The new release from Romeo y Julieta was smoked for the first time during the festival del habano in March 2006. An easy drawing, medium flavour, light strength cigar that is sweet in taste from the first to the last puff. The Robusto size cigar, provides a mild and approachable smoke.
A delightful medium cigar with an excellent draw. Light tones of coffee & cream with slight floral hints to tease the pallet. It holds it's charm till very end without turning bitter. The draw is excellent, the flavour consistent from foot to head. A paramount display of Romeo y Julieta's wide palette of flavors. Medium in strength with notes of tangy orange peels, fragrant wood, fresh herbs, roasted hazelnuts and hints of leather fill the palate. A crisp start with an abundant smoke. This is a young and quite delicate cigar with great ageing potential.

About the Brand:
Named after William Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, the origins of Romeo y Julieta as a Habano date back to 1875.
The brand rose to international fame during the early years of the 20th Century under the direction of Don "Pepin" Fernandez, a talented promoter, who was amongst the first to recognise the power of the cigar band. During his hey day no less than 20,000 different bands were used in production.
Winston Churchill became a devotee of Romeo y Julieta. Since his visit to Havana in 1946, his name has not only been commemorated on a band but it has also served to describe the marque’s most famous size measuring 7 inches (178 mm) by 47 ring gauge — the Churchill.
Romeo y Julieta’s balanced and aromatic blend of selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region make it the classic medium bodied Habano.

About the Manufacturer: The Romeo y Julieta marque was established in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Mannin Garcia. The brand is named for Shakespeare's famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Between 1885 and 1900, the brand won numerous awards at different tasting exhibitions (as still evidenced by the gold medals on the brand's logo). However, the brand truly bloomed after it was acquired by Jose "Pepin" Rodriguez Fernandez, former head of the Cabañas factory in Havana, and his firm, Rodríguez, Argüelles y Cia, in 1903. Being a very cosmopolitan man, Rodriguez constantly travelled across Europe and the Americas, actively promoting his brand, and entering his horse, the aptly named Julieta, in racing events across the world.
As a result of his salesmanship, the brand became exceptionally popular around the world among wealthy customers, many of whom demanded personalized bands for their cigars. At its height, as many as 2000 personalized cigar bands were produced for customers. The brand was also known at this time for specializing in figurado cigars, such as perfectos and pirámides, with over a thousand such shapes believed to have been in production.Sir Winston Churchill was perhaps the brand's most famous devotee. The flagship vitola of the brand is named in his honor, a long 7" by 47 ring gauge cigar known as the Churchill. Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first woman to serve as governor of a state in the U.S., also frequently smoked them.
